Single – one, solo, solitary, unaccompanied, unique
Shots – small servings of spirits consumed quickly – often as a ‘side’ to a longer drink.
Take a long drink with a single contemplating a new relationship … a 21-year-old Australian art student in London with a secret …a retirement home resident facing the tyrant of time … a guitar pining for quieter rhythms …an athlete and mother wondering where her finish line is …
and in between these stories take a shot – tequila, gin, sake, rum and end the day with a double espresso with a woman contemplating the bed she’s made and whether she has to lie in it.
The stories explore the state of singledom in its many forms. From country Australia in the early part of the 20th century to London in the 1960s, and the Tokyo Olympics, Single Shots will quench your thirst for stories engagingly told.
